Pterinochilus murinus – OBT or golden starburst baboon spider
 
 
This is a medium sized spider originating from central/south Africa (Usambara, Mozambique etc). This species can come in colours from orange to brown but usually its the red/orange colour forms that are readily available. This is an extremely defensive species that is very fast moving. P. murinus should be kept at 25 degrees C with a relative humidity of 50%-70%. This is a species that is recommended for the more experience keeper due to its extremely defensive nature.
